Blog #2

From reading the book, Cassie Sullivan is a young, innocent girl that has became part of a worldwide crisis where the world has became the ownership of a mothership.

Her father was killed by The Others by trusting the appearance as they have the appearance of a human.

She had ran away from Camp Ashpit and Is now heading her way to a journey to find her little brother Sammy Sullivan.

During her journey, she had been wounded by one of The Others named Silencer. He can't kill Cassie because he feels deeply in Love with her and he is struggling between the human and alien parts of himself.

In a blink of an eye, she had found herself in a Nursery home with a 19 year old boy named Evan Walker where she now has to face the ability to trust.

Question

If you were in the situation to trust someone during this tragedy, how would you do it?

  1. If I were in Cassie's situation, I would keep my guard up and be aware of everything around me. It seems that she had a hard life and that could really damage a person. This 'The Other' Silencer may be in love with her but as he is struggling through himself as human and alien is something I wouldn't trust. I do wonder how she feel about 'The Other' and how she is going to protect herself?

  2. I would also feel like I would always need to keep my guard up because people can be very untrustworthy. Especially with " The Silencer" I would really have trouble trusting someone who is struggling in between their human and alien parts

  3. I don't know. It's difficult to trust somebody who is being controlled by two opposing forces. Technically, you could only trust half that person; or better yet, for your own safety, don't trust them at all. These kinds of people tend to be wild and unpredictable.
